The department provides the students opportunities to be responsible for their learning through regular student voice and identifying topics and themes to engage and inspire them. All subjects change their themes and outcomes each year in order to keep in line with current contemporary trends.
The school literacy and numeracy policy is adopted by the department and this is reflected in SOL and Wall displays.
All teaching rooms and workshops have individual displays that encourage and inspire the use of numeracy and literacy.
Each subject also has specific terminology and literacy mats to reflect this.
All subjects are embracing the use of technology using 2D Design and Photoshop to reflect industry standards.
The Art department is involved with the “Arts for Guernsey” programme. Visits to galleries and exhibitions provide an enriched experience beyond the classroom.
Art, Design and Technology Department consists of Art, Photography, 3D Design and Food Technology.
