Science

The science department is staffed by a highly committed team of five full-time members of science specialist teaching staff and one full-time technician.

Science Department Vision:
A great science teacher should not only ensure pupils achieve the best qualification they can but should also instil in pupils a love of learning, an inquisitive approach, and a desire to understand the world around us in a way that develops pupils both academically and socially. I believe that every pupil is capable of achieving a science qualification. By focussing on high quality teaching we can ensure pupils leave La Mare with positive attitudes to learning and with their career prospects as wide as possible. In today’s world of rapidly advancing technology and ideas it is through science that the youth of today will be empowered to develop the world around us in ways not previously imagined, for their benefit and for the benefit of future generations.
